The Lagoon employs a touchpad to control most of its functions. With a couple of swipes and taps, the earcup allows you to adjust volume, skip tracks, fast forward/rewind, activate your computer assistant and accept/end calls. There are also two switches on the side of the earcup, one of which lets you control the level of noise cancellation.

Concerned But Powerless

I use the PXC 550-ii at home and the Lagoon at work. The PXC 550-ii are lighter and really enjoy their sound. Neutral with solid bass and a clear mid-range. But once I used the personalization app on the Lagoon everything sounded livelier. The anc is also better on the Lagoon and the NFC makes reconnecting more straightforward than the way I reconnect with the PXC 550-ii which is to turn it off and on. With the latest software update all the issues users reported in earlier reviews are gone. My headphones don't really leave my work desk so I can't really comment on durability or performance in public spaces. Also, even though the Lagoon are heavier, they don't feel heavy on my head or fatiguing to wear.
